The bestselling Australian author Bryce Courtenay died at 79

Two weeks ago, the 79 years old Australian author Bryce Courtenay passed away in his home in Canberra Bryce told his fans some three months earlier that he had stomach cancer. He was known for his hard work and prolific output. He’s one of the bestselling authors with more than 20 million books. Courtenay was born in a poor environment in South Africa, and then moved to study journalism in London, and later he settled in Australia with his first wife, Benita, in 1958. Before turning to writing in late 1980s, Courtenay worked in advertisement. Among his works, his first novel “The Power of One”, “April Fool’s Day”, and his Farwell novel “Jack of Diamonds” he published in November.
